These triangular markers have some surprisingly unique functions, especially when working with designs that have yarn-overs. When a marker sits next to a yarn-over, the point of the triangle keeps the yarn-over in place. In contrast, a curved stitch marker that is flush with the needle can allow the yarn-over to slip out of place past the marker.
