Gudrun Johnston, knitwear designer and Brand Director for Simply Shetland, has designed this festive fair isle hat in Jamieson's Spindrift to celebrate the solstice season.

We have bundled together 5 colours of Jamieson's Spindrift in Gudrun's original palette for the Shetland Solstice Hat:  Pine Forest, Eucalyptus, Nutmeg, Spice, Old Gold and Eucalyptus.  We are not able to include the pattern in our kit but it available for purchase on Ravelrey (see link below).

Kit includes:  five balls of Jamieson's Spindrift in 292 Pine Forest, 794 Eucalyptus, 1200 Nutmeg, 526 Spice and 429 Old Gold. 

NOTE:  Pattern is not included but can be purchased here on Ravelry 

Hat Size:  Circumference at brim: 18” / 46cm; Length from brim to crown as worn: 8 ¾”/ 22.5cm; Circumference at the widest point: 21 ¾” / 55.5cm.

Gauge:  27 stitches and 32 rows = 4" in Fair Isle pattern

Suggested Needle Size:  2.75 mm and 3.5 mm (always check gauge and adjust needle size accordingly) 

Because the Original Solstice Hat has had such a popular welcome, Gudrun created a second "Encore" palette, featuring Birch, Eesit, Yellow Ochre, Laurel and Ivy.
